What’s On Your Fall Reading List?

I like to fancy myself an OK writer until I read really good writers, then I’m half inspired and half intimidated. Inspired to work on my craft, to hone my skills, to slow it all down and play with words. Intimidated because, well, you know, it’s intimidating.

Like the other day when I read Ernest Hemingway’s Fiesta: The Sun Also Rises

Talk about a gooooood read!

Now I’m back to my junk food beach reads. They may taste good, but there is no real substance there.

Daily Candy, a fun melange of a site, recently had a list of 101 top reads. It’s a good place to go if you’re looking for a recommendation for something different than whatever rut you are in book-wise.

I’ve actually read a few of them! Like David Sedaris’s Me Talk Pretty One Day

I see few others that I have read, but need to read again because I enjoyed them so much (To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee!) and a few I’ve read and cried so hard (The Kite Runner

Got any other recommendations that Daily Candy missed? I’ll start my own reading list…maybe even share some of ya’ll top picks, like a reader’s choice list or something.
